Our family has been producing turkeys for over 60 years, continuing with the third and fourth generation, Bo and Charlie, who are the current partners of the business. We take huge pride in ensuring every turkey is reared to the high welfare standards of the Golden Turkey guidelines.

 

We have been members of the Traditional Farm Fresh Turkey Association, now known as the Golden Turkey farmers, since it was founded over 30 years ago. Their code guarantees that our birds are grown to full maturity and fed a natural diet, with no antibiotics or additives for growth promotion. From 8 weeks of age, our turkeys have daytime access to natural vegetation in spacious fields around the farm, only being put away at night. The birds are traditionally dry plucked and then hung for a minimum of seven days, enhancing the natural flavours prior to evisceration.

The recommended portion per person for Free Range Bronze Turkey is approx 500g.

Delicious award-winning free range whole bronze turkey with plenty of juicy meat and a rich traditional flavour. Our Walters Turkeys are the cream of the coop, free range, hand plucked, and game hung for two weeks. The Turkeys live in spacious airy barns that open onto our lush green meadows. By day the Turkeys enjoy the fresh air of the Berkshire downs, running through the meadows and expelling their natural instinct by foraging and pecking through the grass. When dusk descends the turkeys make their way back into the large fresh straw bedded to barns to be shut up safely for the night.
